O'NEILL: WE MUST PERSEVERE
WATCH: BOSNIA 2-0 NORTHERN IRELAND
BOSNIA 2-0 NORTHERN IRELAND
Edin Dzeko scored twice as Northern Ireland's hopes of avoiding relegation from League B in the Nations League was taken out of their hands in Sarajevo.
Dzeko broke the deadlock after Miralem Pjanic pounced on a mistake by Jamal Lewis to allow the Roma striker to apply a simple finish (27).
Dzeko added a second with another accomplished strike (73) to leave Northern Ireland rooted to the bottom of Group B3 without a point from their three games.
A draw between Bosnia and Austria in the next match on November 15 would relegate Michael O'Neill's side.
90+1: CHANCE! And the ball still won't go in for Northern Ireland as Whyte's cross deflects off Zukanovic and onto the post before Bosnia scramble it clear!
90: The fourth official has announced there will be a minimum of four added minutes.
89: SUB! Besic now takes the applause as Cimirot takes his place for the final few minutes.
He'll have bragging rights in the Middlesbrough dressing room as soon as Friday night, when he joins Saville to take on Sheffield Wednesday.
88: SUB! Here's another substitution for Bosnia as Milosevic replaces Visca, who's had a good game.
87: SAVE! Sehic makes another fine save as Dallas' cross to the near post is flashed goalwards by Cathcart but the Bosnia 'keeper juggles with it and keeps the ball out.
86: SAVE! George Saville has kept going and the ball here breaks for him kindly on the edge of the box but Sehic is alert to tip his shot around the post.
84: BOOKED! Besic is booked and it's been coming all night as he hauls down his club-mate Saville. Davis is there, and his dinked cross finds Cathcart but it's cleared. It was a clever set piece but nothing comes to fruition.
83: SHOT! Pjanic knows he should do better with this as his first touch to escape Saville is sublime but his shot is wayward.
WATCH: DZEKO DOUBLES BOSNIA'S LEAD
Dzeko clinically made Northern Ireland pay for their profligacy in front of goal.
WATCH: WHYTE HITS POST
This really had to go in from Gavin Whyte, but he could only strike the post.
80: SUB! Northern Ireland's third change as Josh Magennis takes the place of Boyce, whose worked hard for his country tonight.
78: BLOCK! Bosnia continue to stream forward as Visca looks to add a third but his shot is well blocked by Lewis. Pjanic's corner finds Dzeko hovering at the far post but his crashing volley deflects wide. He's on a hat-trick.
His only previous treble for his country was against Liechtenstein six years ago.
76: As it stands, if Austria and Bosnia draw in their next match, Northern Ireland will be relegated. That game's on November 15.
75: SUB! Zakaric comes on in place of Duljevic in Bosnia's first change.
GOAL! BOSNIA 2-0 NORTHERN IRELAND (Dzeko, 73)
So the substitutions and tactical changes haven't worked for Northern Ireland. Michael O'Neill tweaked things and Dzeko has simply peeled into the area of vulnerability.
Stuart Dallas isn't a right-back and is all at sea as Dzeko receives the long ball forward, takes a touch to steady himself and fires past Peacock-Farrell. Lights out for Northern Ireland in the Nations League.
BOSNIA 1-0 NORTHERN IRELAND
72: Immediately some fun and games between Vassell and Vranjes as he yanks at the Bosnia defender's arm before receiving Lewis' throw. That's a free-kick straightaway.
71: SUB! Kyle Vassell is thrust into the international spotlight as he makes his second appearance for his new country, replacing Paddy McNair.
69: BOOKED! Duljevic catches Paddy McNair with a rather cheap one. He actually wins the ball and that's a very poor decision from the referee.
No wonder he's smiling. The delivery from Davis is into an inviting area, but there's no takers.
65: OFF THE POST! Extraordinary for Northern Ireland and Gavin Whyte should score.
He reacts to his initial header after a good ball in from Stuart Dallas, the ball hits his shoulder but comes back to him from Zukanovic's poor clearance and his effort strikes the foot of the post! He has to bury that, he has all the goal to aim at!
63: Good high-pressing from Northern Ireland after a rather ill-advised ball back from Besic to goalkeeper Sehic, but Sunjic rather brutishly cuts across Boyce with no intention of playing the ball. That was more WWE than football, but he gets away with the clear shoulder-charge!
61: More concern for Northern Ireland now as Liam Boyce is left in a crumpled heap by Sunjic. The referee is allowing the game to flow for both teams but that looked a foul. The Burton Albion man gets up gingerly to his feet.
60: The beaverish Saric is causing havoc at the minute, popping up everywhere and his cross is diverted behind by Davis. Pjanic's delivery is just over the head of Zukanovic and Northern Ireland survive this time.
58: SUB! Gavin Whyte comes on to make his competitive debut for Northern Ireland as he takes the place of Norwood in the visitors' first change.
56: SAVES! Northern Ireland a little bit ragged here as Besic threads a ball through for Dzeko in between Jonny Evans and Cathcart, but Peacock-Farrell stays big to make a point-blank save.
The ball is cleared only as far as Saric, and his curled effort finds the gloves of the Leeds 'keeper. One for the cameras that second save, but Bosnia so close to a second.
54: Visca is back from that earlier collision to resume his battle with the youngster Lewis.
The drums continue to beat in the stands, and Northern Ireland are still waiting to get the monkey off their back in front of goal. This is their worst run without a goal in 15 years away from home.
51: The game hasn't quite recaptured the intensity yet of the first half as McNair gets Northern Ireland up the field. Their fans are still in good voice in one corner of this compact ground.
50: SHOT! Bosnia come forward again as Pjanic and Dzeko get in each other's way, but the ball is worked back to Besic and his shot is blocked by Saville.
48: Lewis this time walks away rather gingerly after leaving his foot on Visca. Bosnia win the free-kick but there's no further punishment.
47: The message from O'Neill will be 'keep believing'. I wonder if Lewis has had a boots check at the break. Visca gets to the byline down the right and puts in a venomous cross that misses the head of Dzeko.
46: BEEP! Final checks on the nets and we're just about ready to go again. No changes at the break as Northern Ireland get us back up and running.
After playing second fiddle to Sergio Aguero at Manchester City, Edin Dzeko is now revelling in his role as the main man for Roma and Bosnia.
The striker was a key part of the City title-winning squads of 2011/12 and 2013/14 but, despite scoring 72 times for the club during his four-and-a-half seasons in Manchester, he was most often used as an impact substitute rather than first-choice forward by bosses Roberto Mancini and Manuel Pellegrini.
Across his four full campaigns, Dzeko averaged just 16 Premier League starts per season, regularly watching on from the sidelines as Aguero led the line.
It really is a case of deja-vu so far for Northern Ireland in Sarajevo as they've had plenty of possession but find themselves behind again.
Edin Dzeko didn't need a second invitation to lap up the mistake from Jamal Lewis after 27 minutes and his strike separates the sides at the break.
45: SHOT! Maybe it's this new pitch as McNair is the latest player to slip allowing Dzeko to cross from the left. The ball is worked by Duljevic back to Vranjes and his fierce drive from the right is a yard or so wide!
42: Northern Ireland with a free-kick in a good position as Cathcart is foul by Besic. McNair's delivery finds Davis but there's no authority on the shot as the ball pinballs back to Dallas and his hooked effort is plucked out of the sky by Sehic.
WATCH: DZEKO POUNCES ON MISTAKE
Bosnia have enjoyed an excellent period of dominance since taking the lead, albeit in rather cruel circumstances.
36: SAVE! More good skill from Dzeko as he takes Saric's pass and creates some space for himself, but Saville manages to get back and deflect the shot and the ball is gathered comfortably by Peacock-Farrell.
34: OVER! Pjanic takes the ensuing free-kick, and he curls the ball deliciously over the wall and just over the crossbar! Peacock-Farrell wasn't getting to that. Northern Ireland just need to get in at the break one goal behind.
33: BOOKED! Saric harries Davis and advances, forcing Norwood into the foul after seeing his team-mate dispossessed. Norwood collects a yellow for his troubles and will miss the next game.
WATCH: SAVILLE HITS POST
This seems a fair amount of time ago now, with Bosnia on top, but it could've been so different had this gone in from Saville.
30: NO GOAL! Northern Ireland just need to compose themselves as they are very nearly two behind.
Saville concedes another free-kick, which Pjanic dinks into the box and Dzeko turns majestically to volley past Peacock-Farrell but the linesman has his flag up.
There's plenty of attention focused on the assistant referee here as we're talking millimetres in that. Whistles from the home fans.
GOAL! BOSNIA 1-0 NORTHERN IRELAND (Dzeko, 27)
Your heart goes out to Jamal Lewis, who loses his footing at the vital moment to concede possession in a disastrous position.
He's starting the game ever so well but his slip proves costly as Visca is onto the ball in a flash and he calmly sets up Edin Dzeko for a simple finish, passing the ball into the net to Peacock-Farrell's left.
BOSNIA 0-0 NORTHERN IRELAND
24: Dallas' long throw causes havoc inside the Bosnia penalty area and Davis is in there, but the ball ricochets safely into the gloves of Sehic.
Michael O'Neill will be very pleased with how his side have acquitted themselves in the opening quarter to this match.
20: OFF THE POST! It's wonderfully patient build-up from Northern Ireland as Davis and Boyce work the ball out to the left for Lewis, and his low cross finds Saville...
He should've done better with his first effort, but on this occasion he swivels and shoots left-footed but his effort comes back off Sehic's left post!
17: OVER! Wonderful work from Pjanic in the build-up as he spots Dzeko in between McNair and Cathcart and puts the ball right onto the chest of the Roma striker.
His first touch is perfect to set up the left-foot shot but he lifts his effort a yard over Peacock-Farrell's bar! That would've been some goal.
13: Lovely little piece of skill from Pjanic to escape Norwood. So seldom seen in Belfast last month, Bosnia are enjoying plenty of early possession looking to tire out their opponents.
15: CLOSE! Cathcart heads the ball out to concede a throw-in, but Norwood clears, and the ball is worked out wide to Davis down the right.
He puts in an exquisite ball right onto the boot of George Saville but he opens up his left foot too much and he slices his shot wide!
10: CLOSE! Warning sign for Northern Ireland as Duljevic cuts in from the left and curls a deep cross looking for Visca but his shot from the angle is a yard or so wide.
Bosnia manager Robert Prosinecki voices his approval. What a player he was in his day.
9: TACKLE! That's great play from Stuart Dallas as Besic advances with the ball into a dangerous position, but the Leeds winger works back for his team to avert the danger with a brilliant sliding challenge.
