Brentford v Peterborough preview

Image: Cort: Achilles problem not good news for Bees

Team news for Saturday afternoon's League One clash between Brentford and Peterborough at Griffin Park.

Brentford look set to be without strike trio Nicky Forster, Robbie Simpson and Carl Cort for the home game against Peterborough. Forster underwent groin surgery a week ago and although he has stepped up his training, the clash is likely to come too soon. Simpson is not quite ready to return after six weeks out with a hamstring injury and Cort will be out for a while yet after discovering he has a torn Achilles. Manager Andy Scott could be tempted to stick with the side which got back to winning ways with a 3-0 success at Tranmere last weekend. Sam Wood, Marcus Bean and Gary Alexander were recalled to the starting XI and are set to keep their places. Peterborough boss Gary Johnson will have defenders Ryan Bennett and Gabriel Zakuani available for the trip to Brentford. Record signing Bennett missed the 5-4 win over Swindon last weekend with illness but is well enough to be considered this week. And Zakuani could keep his place despite coming off against the Robins with a suspected broken arm. The club have assessed the injury all week and after confirming no break he is in line to play. Forward Lee Tomlin is still suspended as he serves the second of his three-match ban so Arron Davies should continue on the right flank. James Wesolowski is still out as he battles with a knee injury as Posh look for a win which could take them level with leaders Brighton.
