Pirates hoping to steal all three points

Bristol Rovers will go in search of a return to winning ways when they entertain Tranmere on Saturday. The Pirates have failed to win any of their last five League One outings and have slipped perilously close to the relegation battle as a result. In contrast, Tranmere have secured back-to-back successes on their way to the fringes of the play-off places.

Bristol Rovers team news

Defender Joe Jacobson is Bristol Rovers' only fresh concern ahead of the weekend clash. The Wales U21 international was sent home from training on Thursday due to illness and remains a major doubt. Midfielder Chris Lines is available despite nursing seven stitches in a head wound sustained in the defeat to Millwall last week. First-team coach Paul Trollope has promised changes to his side after losing at The Den. Rovers' defensive display particularly frustrated Trollope so Craig Hinton and David Pipe could be in line for recalls. Elsewhere, forward Darryl Duffy will be hoping for his first league start since mid-October. Danny Coles continues to work his way back to fitness following knee surgery and the defender could return to contention to boost Trollope's options ahead of the hectic Christmas schedule.
Tranmere team news
Tranmere boss Ronnie Moore is set to be boosted by the return of loanees John Johnson and Mark Wilson for the trip to The Memorial Stadium. The duo were not given permission to play in Tuesday's FA Cup second-round replay against Peterborough by parent clubs Middlesbrough and Doncaster respectively. However, Wilson picked up an ankle injury in last weekend's 2-1 win against Leeds and may have missed the 2-1 defeat at home to Posh in any case. The midfielder will undergo a fitness test ahead of the trip to Bristol but striker Chris Greenacre (back) and defender Danny Holmes (leg) remain absent. Forward Craig Curran is also set to miss out again as he bids to recover from a stomach injury.
