Blues and Toffees try again in fourth round replay

Finalists in 2009, Chelsea and Everton will be looking to take another step closer to Wembley on Saturday when they meet in an FA Cup fourth round replay. The Blues emerged victorious two years ago, claiming a 2-1 win, and defended their crown last term as they saw off Portsmouth. Carlo Ancelotti will be hoping to make it a hat-trick of cup triumphs for the club and a fourth successful run through the competition in five years. They must, however, negotiate their way past Premier League rivals Everton first, with the Toffees looking to end a 16-year wait for a major trophy. David Moyes' men were disappointed to have been held 1-1 by Chelsea at Goodison Park in the first meeting between the two sides, having created a number of decent opportunities. They now have it all to do if they are to progress to round five, with Stamford Bridge having been an unhappy ground for the Merseysiders of late. Everton's last victory in west London was back in November 1994, with 20 games in all competitions having come and gone since then. The Toffees have, however, lost only one of their last seven meetings with the Blues, with that solitary defeat coming in the 2009 FA Cup final. A meeting with Reading will await the victors of Saturday's encounter in the fifth round.

Team news

Fernando Torres will be rested this weekend, with Chelsea's £50million man cup-tied having already turning out in the competition for Liverpool. David Luiz is likely to be handed his full home debut, with the Brazilian set to be ineligible for UEFA Champions League duty in midweek. Didier Drogba, Salomon Kalou and John Obi Mikel were all left out for the league date with Fulham on Monday, but could return to the starting XI on Saturday. Youngsters Josh McEachran and Ryan Bertrand will be hoping to be involved, with the latter having shaken off a niggling injury. Everton have seen Louis Saha lose his fitness race ahead of a trip to the capital. The in-from French frontman is nursing a hamstring complaint and will play no part at Stamford Bridge. Much will now be expected of Tim Cahill, with Jermaine Beckford or Victor Anichebe likely to partner the Australian up front. Jack Rodwell has recovered from a groin injury quicker than expected, but the game comes too soon for the England U21 international.
