Shots eye play-offs as Robins target safety

Aldershot travel to struggling Cheltenham knowing a win would hand their play-off hopes a massive boost. The Shots have gone three games without a win but still occupy sixth spot on goal difference, however several clubs are on their shoulder and manager Kevin Dillon will be aware slip-ups can be ill-afforded. A six-game unbeaten run has steered Cheltenham away from the threat of relegation, however they still need a point to be League Two certainties next season.

Cheltenham news

Defensive trio Michael Townsend, Shane Duff and Josh Low are all doubts for their home clash against their promotion chasing opponents. Townsend (ankle) missed the goalless encounters at Shrewsbury and Rotherham along with Tuesday's entertaining 3-3 draw at home to Darlington and his participation is again in doubt. Fellow centre-back Duff was replaced after just 27 minutes of the midweek clash against the Quakers nursing a calf problem, meanwhile Low took a whack to his leg in the same game and was also forced off. To make matters worse for the Robins, on-loan left-back Danny Andrew has been recalled by parent club Peterborough and will not be available.
Aldershot news
Aldershot's options could be boosted by the return of Andy Sandell and John Halls. Left-back Sandell has been out since injuring his hamstring at the beginning of March, while Halls has missed most of the season with a series of groin injuries. However, the duo are close to fitness and could be included as Dillon's men look top keep their place in the top seven. Ben Herd continues to miss out with the ankle injury, so Chris Blackburn will fill in at full-back, meanwhile Marlon Jackson is now fully fit after a hamstring injury and will partner top scorer Marvin Morgan in attack.
