Versatile 25-year-old Bird missed last weekend's stunning 6-5 victory at Burton due to an ankle ligament strain, but is now back in full training and expected to be in and around Mark Yates' matchday set-up.
However, Josh Low will be unavailable due to the hamstring injury he picked up at the Pirelli Stadium, meaning Yates will be forced to make at least one change to his starting XI. The left-back lasted just 16 minutes before being replaced by Lee Ridley.
Otherwise, the Robins boss has a fully-fit squad at his disposal and has much to ponder when it comes to naming his side having seen them 5-3 down with three minutes remaining against Albion, only to come back to claim three much-needed points in dramatic style.
Play-off hopefuls Vale themselves scored five last weekend to romp past high-flying Chesterfield 5-0, meaning Whaddon Road could be set for a goal-fest.

Port Vale manager Micky Adams is unlikely to make any changes to his starting line-up for the trip.
Adams watched his Vale side demolish automatic promotion hopefuls Chesterfield 5-0 last weekend to secure their first win at Saltergate in 21 years.
And should centre-back Gareth Owen (knee) pass a fitness test as hoped, he will find it extremely difficult to break up his starting line-up.
Veteran striker Geoff Horsfield (calf) and midfielder Dave Howland (knee) remain in the treatment room, although Horsfield will still be barking his orders from the touchline as assistant manager.
