CFR Cluj will be hoping to keep alive their UEFA Champions League hopes as they host Roma in Group A. Roma lost 2-1 at home to Cluj in their opening group match and will be desperate to gain revenge in Transylvania. Cluj have stuttered somewhat since Juan Culio inspired their famous victory in the Italian capital, although they also held Chelsea to a goalless draw. Home and away defeats to Bordeaux have left them bottom of the group and another loss would kill off their chances of making it through to the next round. A draw would also leave Cluj extremely vulnerable ahead of their trip to Chelsea early next month, but Maurizio Trombetta realises it will be difficult to claim Roma's scalp for a second time. He said: "I would say that things have settled down. Roma were struggling to integrate new players back then and had injury problems. "Now they are playing well, second in the group. We are in last place, and have had something like 16 matches in the last two months, which has taken its toll. "But I'm looking for a second miracle. We want to beat them again." Trombetta will be without Portuguese full-back Tony and Brazilian striker Didi (both knee), while Culio and Gabriel Muresan are both struggling with knocks.

      Spalletti options

Roma boosted their chances of advancing in the competition with a 3-1 win against Chelsea in their last game and their fate remains very much in their own hands. Luciano Spalletti's side are still languishing in 15th place in Serie A but they are improving and will start as favourites. Spalletti said: "We have reacted very well since the CFR defeat. This is an intelligent group of players and I'm happy with our progress." Christian Panucci is out with a knee problem while Cicinho will also sit out the clash because of a cold. Mirko Vucinic is doubtful for the Giallorossi after missing training on Tuesday with a virus.
