Danny Woodards is an injury doubt for Crewe as the defender, who has impressed in a holding midfield role recently, suffered a slight groin strain against Colchester.
He was replaced by Steven Schumacher at half-time in the 1-0 victory on Saturday and Schumacher is on standby to replace Woodards in the starting line-up should he fail a late fitness test.
Young midfielders Luke Murphy and James Bailey and striker Tom Pope have all resumed training after injury and will be hoping to force their way back into Gudjon Thordarson's squad.
However, defenders George Abbey (back), Chris McCready (groin) and Dennis Lawrence (cheekbone) remain sidelined.
