Crewe v Cheltenham preview

Crewe will be looking for a survival boost by condemning opponents Cheltenham to relegation.

Baudet, Donaldson back; Hammond, Finnigan doubts

Crewe will be looking to boost their own survival hopes by condemning opponents Cheltenham to relegation. Alex are currently four points clear of the drop, while Cheltenham will need a win to have any hope of avoiding relegation on Saturday. For the home side, captain Julien Baudet and striker Clayton Donaldson are set to return for the crunch game. Baudet - who has announced he will leave at the end of the season to join the Colorado Rapids - limped out of Monday's draw at Oldham complaining of a tight hamstring. But he has recovered sufficiently, as has seven-goal forward Donaldson who suffered a toe injury in that game and was also withdrawn. Thordarson will have to do without on-loan defender Alan Sheehan (ankle), midfielder Steven Schumacher (knee) and Mark Carrington (groin).

Robins news

Having gained a stay of execution with Monday's 1-0 victory over Yeovil, the Robins still find themselves in need of a stunning run of results to escape the drop. Omens are not good for this weekend as they travel to Gresty Road, a ground where they have never won, but Martin Allen's squad have spoken all week of the need to finish the season on a high and with a sense of pride. Paul Connor started Monday's triumph at Whaddon Road despite suffering with a heavy virus, and he is again expected to feature. However, fellow striker Elvis Hammond remains doubtful with an ankle injury. Midfielder John Finnigan is battling to shake off a hamstring problem in time to feature but defenders Alan Wright (calf) and Gavin Caines (knee) are expected to continue to miss out. Jake Lee started against the Glovers before being substituted at half-time, and Allen must decide whether to hand the youngster another chance.
