Crewe have no new injury concerns but will still be without a trio of players for the Sky Bet League Two clash with Swindon.
The versatile Harry Pickering was due to play in an under-23 game on Monday as he continues his recovery from a hamstring problem.
Eddie Nolan is still struggling with a calf injury suffered in home win over Macclesfield, but Paul Green is further off a return with a serious knee injury but it is hoped he can return in the new year.
Swindon will be without veteran left-back Matt Taylor through suspension. Taylor was dismissed in stoppage-time in Saturday's goalless draw with Oldham for a professional foul.
Ellis Iandolo could come in to replace Taylor after being an unused substitute on Saturday. However, right-back Kyle Knoyle will be available again after a ban of his own, while top scorer Michael Doughty has returned to training following a hip injury but the game will come too soon for him.
Crewe Alexandra are winless in nine league encounters against Swindon (D2 L7) since a 2-1 win in October 2012.
Swindon have won back-to-back away league trips to Crewe for the first time in the Football League, scoring six goals in those two matches, as many as in their previous 10 visits combined.
Swindon's Marc Richards has been directly involved in five goals in his last five league appearances against Crewe (four goals, one assist), including two goals and an assist for the Robins in January last season in a 4-3 Swindon win.
Crewe have failed to score in six of their last eight league games (four goals), after scoring in each of their previous 15 such games before this run.
