Zebroski strikes late to thwart Quakers

A goal deep into time added on at the end of the game from Chris Zebroski gave Wycombe all three points as they brought a run of six games without a win to an end as they overcame Darlington 2-1. The visitors took the lead in the 38th minute as the Darlington defence failed to clear a corner, and when captain David McCracken found John Akinde inside the area the big striker made no mistake from six yards. Darlington's best early effort came from Franz Burgmeier in the 38th minute with the Liechtenstein international forcing a fingertip save from Wycombe keeper Jamie Young with a curling free-kick from the edge of the area. Burgmeier was involved in Darlington's equaliser in the 59th minute. He found Jason Kennedy six yards out and the former Middlesbrough midfielder tapped in his first goal since last October. When Darlington keeper Przemyslaw Kazimierczak kept out a point-blank effort from Matt Bloomfield in the 74th minute it looked as though the hosts had salvaged a point. But Zebroski struck from close range three minutes into time added on after Darlington failed to clear a Craig Woodman corner.
