Oussama Idrissi and Danny Hoesen each struck twice as Groningen overwhelmed Utrecht 5-1 at Stadion Galgenwaard to register their first Eredivisie win of the season.
Idrissi, who lined up on the right wing, fired both goals in a one-sided first half with his second a terrific curling effort from just outside the area.
Richairo Zivkovic pulled a goal back for Utrecht but the fightback was short lived for the hosts.
Hoesen extended Groningen's advantage in the 66th minute before Tom van Weert grabbed his side's fourth.
They rounded off the scoring in injury time with Hoesen putting the gloss on an excellent away performance.
Victory moves Groningen move up to 13th in the table and above Utecht, who sit in 17th.
