Image: Yantorno: Injury doubt for Pools

Team news for Tuesday night's League One clash between Hartlepool and Carlisle at Victoria Park.

Double concern for Pools; Robson hopes to face former club

Hartlepool caretaker manager Mick Wadsworth has two injury worries ahead of the visit of Carlisle. Ritchie Humphreys (hamstring) and Fabian Yantorno (hip) both picked up knocks in Saturday's win against Walsall and face late fitness tests before they are included in the squad to face the Cumbrians. Joe Gamble made his return to the squad at the weekend and is pushing for a start while striker James Brown could make the squad after missing Pools' last four games with an ankle injury. Pools could also welcome Adam Boyd back into the squad after he missed the Walsall game with an ankle injury picked up on reserve duty, while Jake Kean continues in goal in the absence of Scott Flinders and Andy Rafferty who are both recovering from injuries.

    Carlisle news

Carlisle's Matty Robson is hoping to make his first start of the season at his former club. The Cumbrians winger has made seven appearances from the substitutes' bench this term, but an impressive second-half display in Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Bournemouth has put him in contention. Midfielder Marc Bridge-Wilkinson missed out at the weekend with an ankle injury and remains doubtful, while captain Paul Thirlwell (knee ligaments) and defender Danny Livesey (groin) remain sidelined. Ben Marshall is another player hoping to force his way into the starting line-up after four substitute appearances following his summer switch from Stoke, leaving manager Greg Abbott with plenty to ponder as his side bid to bounce back from their first league defeat of the season at Bournemouth.
