All the reaction from Tynecastle after Aberdeen beat Hearts 3-1 to maintain their 100% record in the SPFL Ladbrokes Premiership.

A double from David Goodwillie fired Aberdeen to their eighth win from eight in a 3-1 victory at Hearts to extend their unbeaten run at the top of the table.

The Dons claimed only their second victory over Hearts in 15 encounters and their first at Tynecastle since January 2010 as they maintained their hold on top place in the Scottish Premiership.

Goodwillie justified Derek McInnes' decision to start him up front in place of leading goalscorer Adam Rooney as the Dons boss made good use of the strength in depth of his squad.

The 26-year-old striker got himself into space in a crowded box to head in a ninth-minute free-kick from Niall McGinn from near the left-hand corner-flag, which Hearts 'keeper Neil Alexander was unable to hold as it trickled over the line.

McGinn, who was on fire throughout the match, doubled the lead in the 23rd minute after initially picking up the ball in his half when a Hearts attack foundered.

Carrying on his run to collect the return pass deep into the left-hand corner, the Northern Ireland forward beat two defenders and curled his shot past Alexander from a tight angle.

Osman Sow had a half-hearted penalty shout for Hearts when he fell in the area, sandwiched between two defenders but nothing was given. Moments later only a sturdy block prevented him shooting after his strong dribble into the centre of the box.

Hearts' first-half fightback also saw Alim Ozturk blast a centre-field free-kick straight into the wall and a header from Brazilian Igor Rossi deflected over the bar by Shay Logan.

But Goodwillie got his second in first-half injury-time with a neat finish after McGinn again made the most of poor defending on a quick break down the right to put his striker clear on the edge of the box.

Hearts felt they had another penalty shout just after the restart when Sow appeared to have been held as he went down in the area as a free-kick fell to him in front of goal.

They got their rewards minutes later after a fierce shot from Jamie Walker from the edge of the box was only parried wide by Dons goalie Danny Ward. From the resulting corner, Rossi pounced on the loose ball to fire in through a crowd of legs.

A double from David Goodwillie fired Aberdeen to their eighth win from eight in a 3-1 victory at Hearts to extend their unbeaten run at the top of the tabl

A spirited Hearts team, who came into the match after their first back-to-back defeats since head coach Robbie Neilson and director of football Craig Levein took control last summer, fought hard to stay in touch with the leaders.

Alexander made a tremendous one-on-one block when Peter Pawlett was clean through shortly before making an even better save to deny a fierce McGinn shot.

And at the other end, Callum Paterson hit the bar with a fabulous free-kick over the wall from in front of the box but Hearts could not find their way through for a second goal to tee up a grandstand finish.
