Teenager Greg Kiltie scored twice as Kilmarnock retained their Scottish Premiership status with a comfortable 4-0 victory over Falkirk in the second leg of their play-off tie.

The 19-year-old was on target in each half, at a packed Rugby Park, where the hosts recovered from a single goal first-leg deficit to win 4-1 on aggregate.

And it was all uphill for the Bairns who conceded a brace of goals inside the opening eight minutes, as Killie sprinted into a slender aggregate lead.

First, Josh Magennis powered his way down the wing before squaring the ball to Kiltie who clinically clipped the ball past Daniel Rogers from 12 yards.

And the ground erupted again four minutes later when the visitors failed to clear Lee Hodson's cross and Miles Addison swept home the loose ball from close range.

As the shell-shocked Bairns tried to find a way back in sunny Ayrshire, Will Vaulks volleyed narrowly wide after half-an-hour and Robert McHugh was off target with a header.

Craig Sibbald failed to make a solid contact with an acrobatic volley which home keeper Jamie MacDonald saved comfortably on 42.

Killie then missed a glorious chance to add a third goal early in the second half. From Craig Slater's free-kick, Rogers blocked Lee Ashcroft's header but, from just three yards, Temitope Obadeyi nodded the rebound against the top of the bar.

However, Obadeyi made amends just after the hour mark when he raced down the left before finding an unmarked Kiltie inside the box, and the young midfielder side-footed home his second of the afternoon.

As Falkirk fell apart, Kris Boyd had the simplest of finishes to give the rampant hosts a 4-0 advantage following another strong run by Magennis.

Home keeper MacDonald saved well from Bob McHugh but it mattered little as Kilmarnock coasted home with an aggregate advantage of three goals.

The result means Kilmarnock avoid playing in the second tier of Scottish football for the first time since 1993, leaving Falkirk to remain a Championship side next season.
