LEEDS 0-0 MIDDLESBROUGH
Barry Douglas' free-kick is held by Randolph in the Boro goal and it's the last kick of the evening as the whistle blows seconds later. A captivating contest at Elland Road and a top result for both sides considering a resolute display delivered by each.
Stay tuned for a full report, highlights and reaction!
90+5: FREE-KICK! And what a place to concede it...Bamford is pushed by Flint and the defender is booked. Surely this is the final chance of the game, but will Leeds be able to capitalise?
90+4: Shotton concedes a corner from Alioski's shot and the Leeds man delivers from the left, but Ayala and Besic successfully head away from goal. Nervy times here at Elland Road.
90+3: SUB! Another Leeds sub as the ultra-versatile Stuart Dallas takes the place of Jack Harrison.
90+2: FIVE added minutes have been shown by the fourth official...
90: Worth noting that Leeds assistant Pablo Quiroga received a booking after Jansson's introduction there...
90+1: SUB! Roofe is replaced by Bamford and there's a real mixed reaction from the supporters.
89: CLOSE! That Ayala last-minute script? Almost happened again. Ayala meets a corner at the deepest position at the far post, but Bailey Peacock-Farrell stands his ground to concede another corner.
88: SUB! Scratch that. Pontus Jansson is on for the injured Berardi. Patrick Bamford's introduction will have to wait for now...
87: Double change coming up, but not before Leeds defend a Boro corner...
84: Dani Ayala netted a late, late winner for Boro against West Brom last Friday night and it looks as though the stage is set for a repeat...
82: Replays are shown after the free-kick that was given after Ayala's challenge there and the Boro defensive line there is so defined and clear to see. Hard work on the training ground is clearly paying off in games.
80: YELLOW! The yellow card is out once more, this time it's for Ayala as he steps into Klich.
78: YELLOW! Liam Cooper gets a talking to after pushing Assombalonga to the floor. Boro have a free-kick in a dangerous spot and Besic stands over the ball...Ayala comes so close, but Berardi's excellent tight defending prevents the header moving goalwards.
75: SAVE! Shotton's long throw is headed by Cooper, before Leeds stopper Peacock-Farrell leaps to claim the ball among a crowd. Another impressive intervention from the young goalkeeper.
72: YELLOW! Clumsy tackle from Berardi on Assombalonga and he's the next to go into the referee's notebook.
70: The tempo has slowed quite significantly but when each side advances into the other's half, a roar comes from the crowd, the like that is almost capable of 'sucking' the ball into the net.
71: OVER! Downing drops his shoulder and drives into space on the edge of the area, but he can't keep the effort down and Peacock-Farrell goes untested.
68: Jordan Hugill is now warming up for Tony Pulis' Boro and will certainly be feeling confident after his midweek goal against Rochdale in the League Cup. He's an alternative to Britt Assombalonga, but should the Boro boss switch things up just yet?
65: Boro are spraying balls about all over the pitch at the moment, but they can't seem to get the ball into the feet of Assombalonga at the moment. With the atmosphere building, you feel a big chance is coming, but for who?
62: Boro break through Downing at pace, but as the former England man delivers the cross, it fails to find any team-mates. This game is opening up now...
YELLOW! Clayton hauls down Saiz on the counter and has his name taken as a result.
A familiar sight this evening...
59: WIDE! Roofe links up well with Harrison as he tees up his team-mate, though the Man City loanee curls a volley wide from the edge of the area.
57: Cooper is finally penalised for a foul on Assombalonga and Boro have a chance to capitalise with a free-kick...but Ayala heads Besic's delivery wide of the mark.
More importantly perhaps is the fact the Boro striker has been fouled again, this time by Klich, who is not even looking at the ball as he grapples with Assombalonga...
55: YELLOW! Besic is the next to go into the book after a foul on Douglas. He's angry and protests that the defender simply bounced off him, but it could be the fact he threw the ball at his own head and headed it away that got him in trouble...
53: YELLOW! Nasty challenge from Douglas on Clayton and the defender is extremely lucky to stay on the pitch. That could've been a hell of a lot worse.
52: Assombalonga is forced to the deck by Cooper and he raises four fingers to the referee to indicate the number of times the Leeds defender has fouled him...
50: Patient build-up from the hosts as they plot their next move. It pays off as they win a corner when Flint turns Alioski's shot behind for a corner.
49: Former Boro man Patrick Bamford is out warming up here...he scored a hat-trick for Boro against Leeds earlier this year but will he be able to help his new side out tonight?
47: First attack of the half is Boro's, but Shotton's header is straight into the hands of Peacock-Farrell, while at the other end, Roofe lets fly from range and grimaces as he turns away.
SECOND HALF! LEEDS 0-0 MIDDLESBROUGH
Interesting second half to come and we're just getting back underway...
So it's goalless at the break but both sides have had chances in a really compelling encounter at Elland Road.
Britt Assombalonga headed perhaps the best chance of the game over the bar after around 25 minutes, while Luke Ayling has seen a powerful header smashed off the line by Adam Clayton.
Intriguing second half to come...stay tuned!
45+1: Just the one added minute at the end of this half...
44: Will we have time for any more chances in this half? Just a couple of minutes remain...
42: CHANCES! First of all Alioski fluffs his lines as he attempts a bicycle kick from Harrison's delivery, before a dinked cross is cleared by Ayala. Roofe is adamant he's due a penalty, but the Spaniard merely stood his ground there. Good decision from the referee.
40: CATCH! Big strong catch from Peacock-Farrell as Downing whips in the subsequent free-kick. He's looking good this evening and has made a couple of eye-catching saves already.
38: Loose ball from Ayling allows Boro to build, though they play it back into defence and start once more. Alioski clatters into Shotton as he eyes up a cross and gives away a free-kick.
The Leeds man is fuming here as he discusses the decision with the linesman...or tries to at least.
34: YELLOW! Brilliant play from Dael Fry as he sprints forward with the ball at his feet before being chopped down by Saiz. It didn't look as though there was a lot of malice in that so Saiz will be disappointed to have been carded.
35: WIDE! Downing sends in the free-kick, but Shotton nods the ball wide of the target from inside the area.
32: OFF THE LINE! Leeds come within a whisker of the opener here as Adam Clayton smashes a powerful headed effort from Luke Ayling clear on the line!
Still goalless as we pass the half hour mark...
25: CLOSE! Assombalonga heads clear from the corner once more, but only as far as Harrison, who picks out Roofe at the far post. He stretches to bring the ball into his custody but it's too pacy and evades him.
23: We're just seeing some stats that say Kemar Roofe has has just four touches of the ball so far this evening. Leeds have been bright but have offered little in attack, really.
24: SAVE! Peacock-Farrell has to be alert to push Howson's effort away as he waltzes into the area past Luke Ayling before driving goalwards! Ayala then sees a header tipped over the bar, before Britt Assombalonga misses a big chance by heading over from close range!
22: CORNER! Alioski delivers a nice curling corner from the left hand side, but Assombalonga gets a firm header on the ball to avert the danger.
21: Boro are slowly but surely growing into this game now, but they won't go close to breaking the deadlock with the kind of cross Downing has just delivered...Assombalonga was calling but the cross looped over his head and was well cleared.
18: Howson smashes the ball forward towards Assombalonga from inside his own half but as the striker comes to collect, Peacock-Farrell races from his goalline to lump into the stands. Clever positioning from both players there.
15: Not a lot of possession for Boro as yet, but they are used to soaking up the pressure and are doing so effectively so far. A couple of neat touches from Saiz, Harrison, Roofe and co may have started a few alarm bells ringing, however.
12: WIDE! Out of nowhere, Berardi gets to a Shotton clearance before Assombalonga and tries his luck. The effort drifts just wide of the post, though plenty of fans thought that was heading in judging by the reaction...
13: Friend is slightly lucky not to be booked for a rash challenge on Harrison, but Leeds have a free-kick nonetheless. Douglas floats the ball in but Randolph grasps the ball to his chest with ease.
10: OVER! The hosts build and press at high intensity once more, but after Roofe and Harrison linked up, Saiz proceeded to lash a loose ball over the bar. A chance wasted but you get the feeling there'll be plenty more to savour this evening.
8: CHANCE! Small opening for Leeds here as Harrison gives a glimpse of what he's about...he cuts in off the right flank and plays a clever low ball to Klich. In turn, he feeds the ball into space inside the area, but Besic is on hand to tidy up.
7: We're seeing replays here of a potential penalty appeal for Boro. Berardi tussles with Assombalonga and the Boro striker goes down under the defender, but there's not much of an appeal from him, more of a realisation of a physical mis-match. Needs to be stronger there, really.
