Youngster overcomes ankle problem

On-loan Tottenham striker Simon Dawkins looks set to start Leyton Orient's clash with Carlisle. The youngster came on for the last 19 minutes of the Os' 3-0 defeat against Peterborough last weekend and looks set to go straight into the side following an ankle injury. Defender Danny Granville could make way for Alton Thelwell who was only fit enough to make the bench following a knee injury last Saturday, while Tamika Mkandawire could be replaced by Paul Terry following manager Martin Ling's decision to drop him to the bench for the Posh game. Ling could opt to change to a 4-3-3 formation following his side's lacklustre defeat last weekend with Wayne Gray, Adam Boyd and Dawkins starting. Orient will be hoping to get back to winning ways after two defeats which have seen them concede seven goals.

Carlisle news

Carlisle will be without defender Josh Gowling for their game against Leyton Orient. The summer signing from Bournemouth broke his nose in Monday night's reserve game against Rochdale and is expected to be out for between four to six weeks. Gowling's place on the bench may be taken by new signing Richard Keogh, who joined the club this week from Bristol City. Keogh enjoyed a short loan spell at Brunton Park last season and has now returned on a permanent basis. Midfielder Chris Lumsdon remains on the sidelines with a back problem and is likely to be out for around three months. However, fellow midfielder Grant Smith may come into contention after recovering from a thigh injury to feature for the reserves.
