Macclesfield vs Yeovil preview
Friday 23 November 2018 12:30, UK
Macclesfield are hopeful that Jared Hodgkiss will be available for the Sky Bet League Two clash at home to Yeovil.
The defender came off in the first half of the 2-0 loss at MK Dons last weekend due to an ankle problem. It remains to be seen whether Callum Evans (ankle) makes his comeback, while Jordan Ponticelli (metatarsal) is still out.
The rock-bottom Silkmen, who have had Danny Whitaker and Neil Howarth in temporary charge following boss Mark Yates' departure on October 8, have lost each of their last four league games and won only one all season.
Yeovil will be without forwards Alex Fisher and Olufela Olomola. Both were substituted before the half-hour mark in the shock 3-1 FA Cup loss to Stockport on November 10, with Fisher having suffered a groin injury and Olomola a hamstring issue.
That was Yeovil's last outing - the league clash with Lincoln scheduled for last Saturday was postponed as three of the Glovers' players had received international call-ups. The trio of Sessi D'Almeida, Rhys Browne and Enes Mahmutovic have all come back unscathed.
Gary Warren could make his return to action after injury, but captain Omar Sowunmi (ankle), Diallang Jaiyesimi (knee), Jordan Green, Korrey Henry (both hamstring) and James Bailey (knee) all remain sidelined.
Opta stats
Macclesfield are unbeaten in their four Football League matches against Yeovil (W3 D1), winning the most recent meeting between the two sides 3-1 back in February 2005.
Yeovil have lost their two trips to Macclesfield in the Football League by an aggregate scoreline of 2-7.
Macclesfield have won just seven points from a possible 54 so far this campaign - only once have they won fewer points at this stage of a season in the top four tiers of English Football (six points from 18 games in 2006/07, also in League Two).
Yeovil have won just one of their last nine league games (D4 L4), a 1-0 victory against Carlisle in October.
Olufela Olomola has been directly involved in five of Yeovil's last eight League Two goals (2 goals, 3 assists).
