Morecambe and Grimsby shared the spoils as a tough encounter ended goalless at a windswept Globe Arena.
Both sides struggled to create clear-cut openings, with the home side shading things in terms of chances.
Morecambe, with the wind at their backs, had much the better of the first half.
Grimsby's James McKeown was the busier of the two goalkeepers and produced a superb 23rd-minute save from an Adam McGurk shot at the end of a fantastic flowing move involving Luke Conlan and Vadaine Oliver.
McGurk also tested the Mariners keeper early in the game with a long-range free-kick that was heading for the left-hand corner.
Grimsby tried to get forward when they could in the driving wind and Sam Jones was inches away from connecting with Ben Davies' right-wing cross, while Luke Summerfield drove two long-range efforts wide.
The second half followed a similar pattern with McKeown again producing an outstanding save to deny Michael Rose from distance and the visitors' defence performed heroics to stifle Morecambe, who won a host of corners but struggled to make anything of their attacking intent.
