PSV suffer surprise defeat on the road

NAC Breda sprang a surprise on Friday as they overcame table-topping PSV Eindhoven 4-2. The hosts fell behind to a 15th-minute effort from Jonathan Reis, but responded in style to take the points. Leonardo Vitor Santiago had them level on the half-hour mark, proving they were not prepared to roll over against their illustrious opponents. PSV did actually restore their lead three minutes later through Balazs Dzsudzsak, but it was all Breda from there on in. Matthew Amoah restored parity once more four minutes before half-time, ensuring the game entered the interval evenly balanced.

Dismissal

Five minutes into the second half Breda struck again, with Ali Boussaboun edging them in front for the first time on the night. It looked as though a moment of madness may cost them dear on 74 minutes when Kees Luijckx picked up a second yellow card, but that setback only served to make them stronger. Remarkably, they added a fourth 11 minutes from time, with Amoah grabbing his second of the game to wrap things up. The win moves Breda into the top half of the table, but they need to find some consistency if they are to push on. PSV continue to lead the way despite suffering defeat, but they remain just three points clear of FC Twente.
