Doncaster have turned Craig Alcock's stay at the Keepmoat Stadium into a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee.
The 28-year-old has been on loan with Rovers from South Yorkshire rivals Sheffield United since November and after impressing boss Darren Ferguson he has now signed a deal until the end of the 2018 campaign.
Alcock, who has made 10 appearance for Rovers, said on the club website: "It was nice to come in on loan and get a feel for the place, it really felt good and it made the decision to sign on a permanent really easy.
"Now I can focus purely on Doncaster and do as well as we can - starting on Saturday in the cup - and pushing up the league.
"We've got a good thing going at the minute as a team and as a squad.
"We've got a great team spirit and I think everyone has bought in to what the gaffer has tried to instil and thankfully it's paid off with a few good results."
The defender is expected to be involved as Rovers host Premier League Stoke in the FA Cup third round on Saturday.
