Josh Brownhill has extended his loan deal at Barnsley until the end of the season.
The Preston midfielder, 20, has played a key role in the Reds' recent resurgence - they have picked up 12 points and kept three clean sheets in the last four matches.
"I'm really pleased to extend my stay," Brownhill told the club's official website. "They're a great bunch of lads here. We've got some real momentum and are on a great run.
"We're taking each game at a time but I'm excited about what we can achieve here with some big games coming up.
"This is a great club and I'm thankful to the gaffer here for putting his faith in me and trusting me in the games I've played so far."
