Bayer Leverkusen general manager Jonas Boldt insists centre-back Omer Toprak will not be allowed to join Borussia Dortmund this summer.

Boldt confirmed preliminary talks have been held already, but that Leverkusen have concluded the discussions and Toprak will be going nowhere.

"It's been around six weeks that nothing has been said," Boldt said.

"That means the issue is over. We never wanted to sell him and we're pleased that he's staying here."

Boldt acknowledged it was the 26-year-old who had asked to enter into negotiations with Dortmund, but the move fell through because their Bundesliga rivals would not match the asking price.

"Even if Dortmund come to us with 25m euros, that won't change anything," Boldt said.

Toprak joined Leverkusen from Freiburg in 2011 and still has two years left to run on his contract, although the Turkey international can reportedly leave for a contractually agreed fee of 12m euros next summer.
