Hibernian have secured the loan signing of Celtic midfielder Kris Commons.
Commons, 33, has joined on emergency loan terms until January 15 but the deal could be extended when the transfer window opens next month.
The Scotland international has made nearly 150 appearances for Celtic, and has also played for Derby County and Nottingham Forest.
He has not featured since Brendan Rodgers took over at Celtic in the summer and the switch along the M8 sees him reunited with his former Parkhead mentor, Neil Lennon.
The Hibs manager told his club's website: "Kris is an experienced, technically gifted player.
"With us missing a lot of our regular midfield players, it is good to bring in someone with a lot to offer, even just on a short-term basis."
Commons said: "It has come about very quickly, but I think it makes sense on both parts. I can try to get some football under my belt and give Hibs a helping hand as well.
"As much as I am trying to help Hibs, the club are trying to help me out a lot, so I'm grateful to them for giving me the opportunity to play football."
The midfielder could play some part in Hibs' match at Greenock Morton this weekend; Lennon is currently without John McGinn and Fraser Fyvie while Dylan McGeouch suffered an ankle injury in training this week.
Commons joined Celtic from Derby in January 2011 and his contract expires at the end of the season.
