Hull City have completed the loan signing of Inter Milan defender Andrea Ranocchia.

The 28-year-old central defender completed a medical on Deadline Day.

It is understood Ranocchia, who has 21 caps for Italy, will have his entire salary paid by the Tigers until the end of the season.

Ranocchia joined Inter for £10.7m during the January transfer window of 2011 from Genoa, and has since made 166 appearances in all competitions for the Nerazzurri.

Ranocchia spent the second half of last season on loan at Sampdoria and now looks set for a move to the Premier League.

Ranocchia would be Marco Silva's sixth signing of the window, having captured Markus Henriksen and Evandro Goebel on permanent deals, along with the loan signings of Oumar Niasse, Omar Elabdellaoui and Lazar Markovic.

Hull also agreed a £3m fee with Watford for midfielder Adlene Guedioura earlier on Monday.
