Hibernian have confirmed the departure of Anthony Stokes and Liam Fontaine by mutual consent.

Stokes, 29, was disciplined by the club after an incident during the club's winter break to Portugal and manager Neil Lennon had suggested his future was in doubt.

The Irishman has been left out Lennon's three matchday squads so far in 2018.

Fontaine, 32, has fallen out of favour and has not featured at all this season under Lennon.

Newspaper reports in Scotland have linked the defender with a move to Ross County.

Hibernian have already added to their attacking options during the January window, adding Australian Jamies McLaren on loan from German second-tier side SV Darmstadt 98.
