West Ham are offering their full support to defender Arthur Masuaku after he suffered racial abuse on Instagram, Sky Sports News understands.
A user of the social networking site wrote racially offensive messages towards the Hammers defender on Sunday.
Masuaku shared the post on his Instagram page, reacting with the message "some people I swear".
West Ham became the first team to beat Tottenham at their new stadium on Saturday, with the DR Congo international playing the full 90 minutes of the 1-0 away win.
Kick It Out have released a statement on their Twitter account, saying: "We reiterate our message to those who govern these platforms: this abuse is both unacceptable and illegal in any domain. Social media is no exception to this rule."
It comes after the PFA announced last Thursday that Instagram's owners Facebook had reached out to them requesting a meeting following their #Enough campaign on social media. Abuse towards Masuaku is the latest among various racist incidents directed at footballers across social media.
Rangers captain James Tavernier recently shared a racially offensive message he received on Instagram and added a shoulder-shrugging emoji in response.
Raheem Sterling also urged players to do more than just wear t-shirts and campaign on social media to try and combat online abuse.
