Blackburn could face a fight with Tottenham for Congo star Tresor Mputu,
skysports.com understands.
Mputu, who is regarded as one of the best young talents in Africa, is due to arrive in England later this week for a trial at Blackburn.
The 22-year-old has previously been linked with a move to Arsenal after spending time training with Arsene Wenger's side.
Mputu currently plies his trade for TP Mazembe, but is believed to be keen on trying his luck at a higher level.
The player's agent, Severin Bohuis has confirmed Mputu is due to link up with Rovers this week, but that a number of other clubs are chasing his services.
"We are currently sorting out a visa for Tresor to come over to England and he should be here by Thursday," Bohuis told
skysports.com.
"He is due to go and train with Blackburn once he receives his visa, but there are loads of clubs interested in him as he is one the best players in Africa.
"Tottenham are interested in him and we will see what happens at Blackburn."
