Midfielder linked with Premier League switch

Malaga midfielder Apono is focused on helping the club qualify for Europe after being linked with a move to the Premier League. Apono scored a stunning goal in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Mallorca, and was linked with a move to Hull City during the January transfer window. Tottenham Hotspur and Wigan Athletic have also been linked with the 25-year-old in the Spanish media, while Valencia and Villarreal have shown an interest. He has scored eight goals this season and has been influential in Malaga's push to claim a place in next term's Europa League. The club are currently seventh in the Primera Liga and Apono is trying not to worry about what might happen in the summer. "I do not have any news and my objective is to fight to the end to obtain a European place at Malaga," Apono told the Spanish media. Malaga are aware of interest in the midfielder, but have not received any formal offers for a player rated in the 7million Euros (£6.2m) bracket.
