Skipper delighted to sign new one-year contract
Torquay United captain Chris Hargreaves has signed a new one-year contract at Plainmoor.
Hargreaves had been discussing an extension with the Gulls since the club secured a return to the Football League.
The midfielder, who will also undertake coaching duties with Torquay, admits he was never looking to leave the club.
"There was only one club I wanted to sign for and it was just a matter of when," Hargreaves told the club's official website.
"There were a couple of things to sort out, but it was nothing that was going to be a deal breaker, so it wasn't done quite as soon as I would have hoped.
"I'm delighted to have signed a new contract."
The 37-year-old joined the Gulls from Oxford United in 2007 and was a regular fixture in the team last season as Torquay clinched promotion to League Two.
