Lazio full-back a reported target for Genoa

Lazio team manager Igli Tare insists the club have no plans to sell home-grown defender Lorenzo De Silvestri this summer. Genoa are believed to be interested in taking the right-back to Stadio Luigi Ferraris as Lazio fans fear the departure of one of their Rome-born stars. The 21-year-old grew up in the city and is a product of the Lazio academy where he has become a regular first-team player, and Tare has eased fans' worries by declaring the player will not be moving. "The intention of my club is that of keeping the player, while De Silvestri, up until now, hasn't expressed his desire [to leave]," Tare told pianetagenoa1893.net. "Anyway, we are convinced that the relationship can continue also because he is still under contract with Lazio." Tare was quick to rubbish suggestions that talks had already begun between the two clubs, but acknowledged that they have had good relations in the past. "There aren't any negotiations in progress [with Genoa], but the relationship between the two clubs is very good," he added.
