Defender expected to clinch return to Chesterfield

Burton Albion boss Paul Peschisolido has expressed his disappointment after missing out on the signing of Ian Breckin. Experienced defender Breckin is available on a free transfer after being released by Nottingham Forest at the end of last season. He was wanted by Football League new boys Burton, but Peschisolido has confirmed the 33-year-old has agreed to join another club. Peschisolido said: "We were very close to getting Ian, which shows we have set our standards high. "I'm disappointed we missed out on him, but we are speaking to other players of a similar pedigree." Breckin is expected to sign a contract with Burton's League Two rivals Chesterfield, where the stopper spent five years earlier in his career.
