Full-back eager to secure long-term contract

Milton Keynes Dons have signed former Luton Town defender Sol Davis on a short-term contract after a successful trial spell. Davis has been training with the League One club in pre-season after leaving Luton following their relegation from the Football League. He has now secured a deal with Paul Ince's side and could be involved in Saturday's opening game of the campaign against Hartlepool United. "I've been based in Milton Keynes for some time and have driven past the stadium hoping I might one day get the chance to play there so I'm really pleased," the left-back told the club's official website. "Since I was invited to train here I've been really impressed with the sessions the coaching staff have put on and the gaffer's record speaks for itself. "I'm really looking forward to working with him. "I've only signed a short-term deal so I'm hoping to play as many minutes as possible and show the manager that I'm worthy of something longer term."
