Injury-hit goalkeeper agrees contract settlement

Shrewsbury Town have parted company with goalkeeper Glyn Garner after reaching a financial agreement regarding the remainder of his contract. Garner, who is currently sidelined with a shoulder problem, has not made a first-team appearance for the Shrews since November 2008. The 33-year-old has been unfortunate when it comes to injuries and has subsequently fallen down the pecking order having been first choice in the club's 2007/08 season when he first arrived from Leyton Orient. He is now recovering from his injury at Lilleshall where the Shrews will continue to assist him in his bid to regain fitness. Shrews boss Paul Simpson signed Andres Aristidou and Chris Neal back in the summer to boost his goalkeeping options, and currently has David Button on loan from Tottenham Hotspur.
