New Wigan signing Marcelo Moreno says he is happy at the club after a disastrous spell in Ukraine with Shakhtar Donetsk. The 22-year-old Bolivia striker moved to Donetsk in May 2008 and signed a five-year contract, but after failing to settle, was sent out on loan to German outfit Werder Bremen. He has now joined the Latics on loan until the end of the season and admits he already feels more at home than at his former club. "I was all alone in Ukraine for four months. No friends and no family," he said in the Daily Mirror. "I didn't speak the language. Even when I went to the supermarket there was nothing I recognised. "It was a low time for me, but I don't have any regrets about going there, it made me develop as a person and a player. "I feel at home here because the manager speaks Spanish, it helps me understand the tactics. "Some of the players speak Spanish too, but we talk English on the pitch." Moreno, who has made three appearances for Wigan so far since his move, also revealed that Tottenham were interested in his signature when he was playing for Brazilian side Cruzeiro. "Juande Ramos was interested in me," he added. "I was top scorer in the Copa Libertadores and scoring for Bolivia. "But it didn't work out and I went to Donetsk instead."
