Veteran defender agrees to end his contract early

Chris Lucketti has parted company with Huddersfield after reaching an agreement to terminate his contract. The 38-year-old was set to see his current deal with the Terriers expire on 1st July but has agreed to a settlement which will see him leave early. The veteran centre-half re-joined Huddersfield for a second spell in the summer of 2008, having taken in a much-travelled career. He has, however, found first-team opportunities hard to come by, managing just 16 outings in two years. His last appearance for the Terriers came in a reserve game in April, with a foot problem having severely hindered his progress of late. Lucketti is yet to decide what his next move will be, but Huddersfield boss Lee Clark has echoed the sentiments of all those at the Galpharm Stadium by wishing him all the best for the future. "I'd like to thank Chris for his contribution to Huddersfield Town and wish him the best of luck, whether he chooses to carry on playing or follow a different path," he told the club's official website.
