Goalkeeper could be dropped after answering country's call

Cologne manager Zvonimir Soldo could drop Faryd Mondragon after the veteran goalkeeper revived his international career with Colombia. The 39-year-old is first choice for his club, but he had not played for his country for the past five years. However, much to the annoyance of Soldo, Mondragon accepted a call-up for the recent friendly against Ecuador and the forthcoming meeting with the USA. Soldo told EXPRESS newspaper: "I am staying firm on my opinion. He has been facing that sort of stress when he was younger, about twenty years of age. "These days, he is approaching 40 years of age. He will not cope with all this so easily. "There is not much time left between the last friendly against the USA and the upcoming Bundesliga match against Borussia Dortmund. "I would have preferred to see him back sooner, although I am unable to guarantee he is going to be in the starting line-up against Dortmund."
