Russian striker Dmitri Bulykin will soon be joining Ajax, if manager Frank de Boer gets his way.
The 31-year-old spent last season on loan from Anderlecht to ADO Den Haag and proved a big success in the Eredivisie.
Former Russia international Bulykin has also been linked with a summer move to French club Bordeaux, but De Boer has revealed his admiration for the powerful frontman.
"I find him an interesting player," De Boer told TV channel Eredivisie Live.
"He is the type of striker we need and can make things happen in the final stages."
De Boer stressed it was too soon to promote 20-year-old striker Geoffrey Castillion to his first-team squad on a regular basis.
"A loan is probably the best option for him," De Boer said.
