Winger makes Liverpool exit and returns to Belgium

Serbian winger Milan Jovanovic has left Liverpool after just one year at the club to go to Anderlecht. The Belgians announced earlier this week that the two clubs had struck a deal for the 30-year-old, with a successful medical all that was needed for the transfer to be finalised. Liverpool have now confirmed on their official Twitter page that Jovanovic has completed his move to Anderlecht. The winger agreed to join Liverpool when Rafa Benitez was still in charge before eventually linking up with the Reds last summer after Roy Hodgson had become manager. But he failed to make a significant impact at Anfield and was given few opportunities to impress by either Hodgson or his replacement Kenny Dalglish. He will now hope that a return to Belgium will revive his club career, having previously played in the country for Standard Liege.
