Al Kamali to take in six-month loan deal with French giants

Hamdan Al Kamali will join Lyon on a six-month loan deal after his club Al Wahda agreed to release the promising defender. Lyon had been targeting the 22 year-old for nearly a year and previous attempts to sign the youngster were quickly rebuffed by Al Wahda. In a turn of events, Al Wahda club president Shaikh Diab Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has approved Al Kamali's loan move to the Ligue 1 giants from 2nd February to 30th June, with the option of making the move permanent if he impresses. Al Wahda coach Josef Hickersberger is delighted for his star player and believes the club's decision to sanction the move will benefit UAE football in the long-term. "I congratulate him as it is a special achievement and a great decision by the Club President Shaikh Diab," he told Gulf News. "It was always his dream to play in Europe and now he can fulfil his dream. "I hope he learns a lot from this experience and for sure this will help Al Wahda Club and the national football team. It will also give confidence to more youngsters to try and emulate Hamdan." Al Kamali left for France on Sunday to undergo a medical and pen a deal with Remi Garde's side.
