Middlesbrough are checking on Poland international forward Patryk Malecki, Sky Sports can confirm. The 23-year-old was given permission by his club Wisla Krakow to travel to England last week. He has spent the last few days at Boro's Rockliffe Hall training HQ and is believed to have done well, and he is due to remain with the club until Friday. Malecki, who can play on the wing or behind a main striker, has been in dispute with Wisla which has seen him play for them just once in 2012. Malecki, who has eight caps for Poland and has scored twice, has been tipped to make the Euro 2012 finals squad but his current predicament has put his participation in doubt. It is believed Boro are looking at Malecki with a view to a deal in the summer, with his current contract still having two years left to run. A move to Russia was lined up in January, but it failed to materialise and it does seem he has little future at Wisla.
