Arnesen calls on Getafe to lower their demands

Hamburg's general manager Frank Arnesen has confirmed an interest in David Abraham, but is waiting for Getafe to lower their demands. Abraham is currently with Swiss club Basel, but it recently emerged that he has signed a four-year contract to join Getafe on a free transfer. However, Abraham has subsequently opened the door to a move to Hamburg, where he would be reunited with his former Basel coach Thorsten Fink. Reports in Germany claim Getafe want £3.3million in order to let Abraham join Hamburg, but Arnesen is unwilling to pay that price and has left the matter in the hands of the Argentine defender's agent. "As a Bosman player, Abraham would be a very interesting player for us," Arnesen told BILD. "But under these terms, this is actually ruled out. "I have yet to make an official bid as we are so far apart from an agreement. "There is no use for me to travel to Getafe under these terms. We have to keep waiting to see if the Spaniards massively lower their demands. "This is now a task for the player agent of David Abraham."
