Celtic have agreed a deal for Derry City winger Michael Duffy, according to the Irish club.
Following positive discussion between the clubs, Duffy is now discussing personal terms with the Scottish champions.
The 20-year-old impressed during two recent trial spells with Celtic, and scored twice against Newcastle in a development game.
"We have agreed a deal with Celtic for Michael Duffy," Derry City chief executive Sean Barrett told STV.
"We thought it was dead in the water, then Celtic contacted at us to say they wanted to sign him.
"I believe Michael is discussing personal terms"
Duffy can also play as a striker and he scored 15 times for Derry City as they finished as league runners-up last season.
The player has been capped at U21 level for Northern Ireland.
