The number of people arrested following crowd trouble at the Scottish Cup final between Hibernian and Rangers in May has risen to 58.

A 23-year-old man has been detained by police in connection with alleged offences under the Offensive Behaviour at Football (Scotland) Act 2012.

He was expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on August 2.

A 40-year-old man has also been arrested and held in custody for both the same reason and an additional alleged assault and is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on August 3.

A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal as officers continue their appeal for information which may assist them.

The latest developments come after a 50-year-old man from Glasgow was jailed last week for his part in the disorder at the match on May 21.

An independent investigation has consequently been held after it was commissioned by the Scottish Football Association.

Edward F Bowen CBE, a former Sheriff Principal for Lothian and Borders, chaired it and the SFA asked for the findings to be submitted by July 31.

The association's board are due to meet on Thursday at Hampden, where they will receive the report. Hibs and Rangers are then set to receive the documentation on Friday.
