Barcelona Femeni winger Barbara Latorre put the icing on the cake with a stunning solo run and finish in a 6-1 victory over Espanyol

Watch Barcelona Femeni winger Barbara Latorre channel Lionel Messi and score a stunning solo goal in a 6-1 victory over Espanyol.

Collecting the ball on the touchline inside her own half, Latorre set off for the opposition half.

She jinked past four defenders before one tried to disrupt her run with a crunching late tackle as she approached the area. The defender successfully brought her down but she showed great speed to spring to her feet, regained control of the ball, beat another defender before finishing with great skill into the corner of the net.

"Honestly, I just got the ball and the first thing I thought was to go towards the goal," Latorre said afterwards. "It was just about going forward until I got there and I shot it."

The goal has gone viral with Barcelona star Gerard Pique giving his seal of approval. When talking on Twitter, he called the goal a mixture of previous goals scored by Messi and former Brazilian striker Ronaldo.

"It started like Leo's goal against Getafe and ended like Ronaldo's in Compostela," tweeted Pique.
