Portugal

Jose Mourinho has turned down an approach from Benfica to take charge after the club sacked Rui Vitoria on Thursday. It's claimed Mourinho, who was dismissed by Manchester United last month, does not plan to return to his native Portugal at this stage of his career. (Record)

Juventus are considering a move for Barcelona left-back Jordi Alba. The Spain international's contract expires in 2020 and he has yet to agree a new deal at the Camp Nou. Alba would not come cheap but the Serie A side would raise funds by selling Alex Sandro, who remains at Manchester United and Manchester City transfer target. (Tuttosport)

Roma centre-back Kostas Manolas is a target for Manchester United. The centre-back has a €36m release clause in his contract and United are ready to trigger that at the end of the season. (La Gazzetta dello Sport)

The Milan giants, Inter and AC, are set to go head to head in a battle to sign Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. The Serb was a PSG, Manchester United and Chelsea transfer target last summer but his price tag of over €100m put off any potential suitors. (Corriere della Sera)

Watford midfielder Roberto Pereyra is "enthusiastic" about a move to Torino. The Argentine, who has impressed this term with six goals in the Premier League, is wanted by former Hornets boss Walter Mazzarri and is keen to return to Turin, where he spent two years with Juventus. (Tuttosport)

Spain

Real Madrid will launch 'Operation Eriksen' in the summer as they bid to secure the signing of Tottenham star Christian Eriksen. The Spanish club have previously signed Luka Modric and Gareth Bale from Spurs for big money but believe they can secure the Dane for a more modest fee given his contract expires in the summer of 2020. Manchester City youngster Brahim Diaz is expected to arrive in the Spanish capital today (Sunday) ahead of completing a switch to Real Madrid. The 19-year-old's contract at the Etihad expires in the summer but Real are ready to pay around €15m to secure his signing this month. (AS)

Ernesto Valverde remains coy as to whether he will stay at Barcelona beyond this season. The Barca coach is in the final six months of a two-year deal, although there is an option in his contract to extend that for a further year: "At the end of the season the club and I have to decide if I continue or not," Valverde said. Manchester United transfer target Eder Militao is also being monitored by Real Madrid. The defender joined Porto from Sao Paulo last summer and has hugely impressed in his 20 appearances. The Portuguese club have already placed a €50m price tag on the 20-year-old. (Marca)

France

Cesc Fabregas' move to Monaco is expected to be completed on Sunday. The Chelsea midfielder has flown to the principality and will sign a contract with the side managed by former Arsenal team-mate Thierry Henry. (L'Equipe)

The Spaniard will not be the only arrival at Monaco in the coming days, however. The Ligue 1 side, who are currently in the relegation zone, are hoping to conclude a deal for former Real Madrid defender and current free agent Pepe, who has rejected an offer from Arsenal. (L'Equipe)

Faitout Maouassa is a Newcastle United transfer target and the Magpies have had a bid of €8m rejected by Rennes. The 20-year-old is currently on loan at Nîmes but hasn't had regular game time. (L'Equipe)

Germany

Ajax are interested in signing Bayern Munich midfielder Meritan Shabani. The 19-year-old, who has made three appearances for the German club, is viewed as a potential successor to Frenkie de Jong, who remains a PSG and Barcelona transfer target. (Sport Bild)
