We're almost half-way through the January transfer window, and there are rumours two Premier League strikers could both be joining Barcelona.

Our friends at Football Whispers have sifted through the European media to find the best transfer news and the latest news stories.

Spain

Munir El Haddadi's departure has left a void in Barcelona's squad and Ernesto Valverde is eager to fill it. Luis Suarez is now the La Liga leaders' only natural forward and with the Champions League returning next month, the Barcelona boss wants to bring in reinforcements. Fernando Llorente has been linked with a switch to the Camp Nou but the club are also interested in taking Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata on loan. (Marca)

Real Madrid want to bring in Serie A hot-shot Krzysztof Piatek. The Polish forward has 13 goals this term and is reportedly an AC Milan transfer target. Genoa are braced for bids with Los Blancos reportedly at the front of the queue. (AS)

Philippe Coutinho has decided to stay at Barcelona. Reports had suggested the Brazilian midfielder was unhappy with the La Liga champions due to a lack of playing time and was looking to return to the Premier League. Manchester United and Liverpool were named as potential suitors for the midfield maestro. (Mundo Deportivo)

Arsenal are close to completing the signing for Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez. The 25-year-old has failed to force his way into Valverde's plans and wants regular first-team football. The Gunners want to bring him to the Emirates on a loan deal with a permanent option to be exercised in the summer. (Mundo Deportivo)

Adrien Rabiot is a man in demand. It was reported that the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder was joining Barcelona in the summer on a free transfer. However, it emerged last week that Bayern Munich wanted to bring the playmaker to Bavaria and now Chelsea are the latest club to be linked with the 23-year-old. The 2016/17 Premier League champions have enquired about his availability. (L'Equipe)

After failing to strengthen their midfield in the summer, PSG are determined to do so this month. With Borussia Dortmund not wanting to part ways with Julian Weigl, the French champions have turned their attention to Everton's Idrissa Gueye. The former Lille man is valued at £40m by the Toffees but the French side believe he would bring added energy to their midfield. (Le10Sport)

Italy

Juventus have turned down Chelsea's offer of swapping Alvaro Morata for Gonzalo Higuain. The Blues want to bolster their attacking options and feel the Argentine forward is the perfect fit. However, the Serie A side want cash for their forward, who is currently on loan with AC Milan. (Calciomercato)

AC Milan are planning for the worst. With Higuain tipped to be joining Chelsea, the Rossoneri are looking for a replacement. A list of names has been drawn up with Genoa forward Krzysztof Piatek at the very top. It is believed that a bid of €40m would be enough to sign him. (Gazzetta Dello Sport)

Newcastle United are interested in AC Milan's versatile midfielder Diego Laxalt. The 25-year-old Uruguayan is available for around the £10m mark and could be Rafael Benitez's first January signing. (Calciomercato)
