Mario Balotelli will have a medical at Marseille on Wednesday after being told he can leave Nice.
The former Manchester City and Liverpool striker had been linked with a return to the Premier League but West Ham have no interest in signing him.
Sky in Italy understands the Italian forward striker will earn £2.7m for 17 games during his six months at Marseille.
Balotelli enjoyed an impressive first two seasons on the French Riviera, scoring 42 goals in 64 appearances for Nice.
However, he has struggled for goals in the current campaign, with no goals in 10 matches, although he has picked up five bookings.
