Sean Dyche says Burnley are focused on their performances as they look to climb the table

Burnley manager Sean Dyche believes they will give themselves the best chance of Premier League survival by maintaining recent performance levels.

The Clarets are two points above the relegation zone but they are on a run of three wins and three draws.

They picked up a point at Manchester United on January 29 and have not lost in the league since Boxing Day.

Speaking ahead of Saturday's game at Brighton, Dyche says they are focused on themselves and not worrying about the teams around them.

"Everything revolves around performances for me both individually and collectively," said Dyche.

"When you get that right, it doesn't mean there is any guarantee, but it gives you a whole better chance of getting what you want if you're performing at the right level.

"If in turn that changes the view of the league and how it's working and who's doing what, and points on the board, of course that's a good bonus.

"But the fact is if we deliver what we can deliver, and as we are doing, then we'll definitely look after ourselves but we've got keep the standards high.

"We continue to look at ourselves, we continue to look at performance levels, not focusing on anything other and I think we've done that well.

"The scratches of luck that you need have not quite gone in the last three (games), they will come I'm sure of that but it's mainly about our performances.

"You often earn your own luck, we've done that and we look to continue to do so with good performances going down to Brighton.

Dyche was asked if he felt Burnley had re-established their identity after struggling in the top flight after finishing seventh last season.

"I think identity is something you deliver consistently and often," added Dyche.

"We were up and down with that and I think the last run of six league games has shown a more consistent level of our identity."
