A Burnley butcher has created a sausage named after deadline day signing Peter Crouch called 'Crouchie's Red Hot Robot.'

Peter Crouch has made a banging start to life at Burnley – so much so a local butchers in the town has decided to name a sausage after their new hero…

The 38-year-old striker joined Burnley from Stoke on Deadline Day in a deal that saw Sam Vokes head in the opposite direction.

He became an instant Turf Moor hit on Saturday after helping to win a stoppage-time penalty which earned Burnley a crucial 1-1 draw with fellow strugglers Southampton.

The sausage - Crouchie's Red Hot Robot - is said to be 'A Mexican Madness Delight' and includes jalapeno peppers, tomato, garlic, onion and lemon juice.

It already appears to be a popular choice among customers and has got the owners and employees at the Heys Family Butchers doing their version of the robot behind the counter.
